Gratitude Laps, #Artful Business and Time to Vote
Last year I was totally chuffed that a lovely friend, client, colleague, fellow Ausmumpreneur finalist and all around divine-being Kerry Spina from Kids in Harmony (http://www.kidsinharmony.com.au/), nominated Sacred Women’s Business for a 2015 St George Banking Group AusMumpreneur Award.
We ended up winning third place for Service Business and we were a finalist in the Emerging Business category. More than anything else, the sense of solidarity with a whole bunch of incredible, friendly and ambitious women who all understood the journey of mixing motherhood with entrepreneurship was so powerful, it brought tears to my eyes. The truth is, flying to Melbourne for the awards and conference wasn’t easy. I needed to find care for my sons and it came at a busy time. However, the whole experience was one of the best things that has happened for my business. It inspired me to reach higher and further than I’ve ever reached before. I’m proud to be a 2016 Ausmumpreneur expert this year.

Things have been incredibly busy at Sacred Women’s Business headquarters. To keep things sustainable, I’ve been going to my local indoor heated pool and swimming gratitude laps every morning. The repetition of the breath and the feeling of weightlessness helps to keep my stress levels under control and I’ve been reciting all the things I have to be thankful for with every lap I swim. It’s replaced my morning yoga routine but it’s been such a welcome substitute because I needed to feel held by the water and go into the spaciousness of the breath rather than thinking about my asana and alignment.
In the lead up to presenting a keynote at The Artful Business conference coming up soon, I’m so grateful for you being here. Without you, I wouldn’t have a reason to keep striving to serve, support, ignite and heal. You mean so much to Sacred Women’s Business.
